Sustainable & inclusive products with a naturalistic footprint and sustainable positioning should make up the beauty market on 2020, driving raw material suppliers to migrate their efforts to meet this ever-growing demand.
Citróleo, still relatively fresh in the supply of raw materials from the Amazon, but with a strong position in the provision of natural and sustainable raw materials, inaugurates this month CITROBIO, the unified operations center in Pará.
Presented at the In-Cosmetics Latam event in September this year, this new unit brings to the Group a new, completer and more modern industrial park, and also functionalizes all production stages to improve complete customer service: logistics, transparency and quality.
The manager of this work, as well as the company’s COO, Juliano Della Coletta explains in more detail: “Citróleo supplies natural actives to the cosmetic industry to over 50 countries. We are working hard and expanding our business with our network of partners, becoming a reference for sustainability, quality and transparency. With great success we are closing the year 2019 with more than positive balance” says.
“This new achievement reinforces the growth of the Citróleo brand, both in Brazil and abroad: “We had already felt this need to structure the company to meet the high demand for our Amazon products. The implementation of CITROBIO only consolidated all the work we started in the past, already foreseeing this giant growth that we see now”, adds Juliano.
Flávia Jesuíno, Global Sales and Marketing Manager adds: “Citróleo is the world leader in the production and sale of 100% natural and traceable alpha bisabolol. So, being a reference in this matter, we have extended all the know-how gained also to produce our oils, butters, as well as the Amazonian actives. In the Cerrado biome we work together with thousands of families, who are our great allies in the production of Citrue Bisabolol and the preservation of the environment. This occurs with the sharing of seeds, seedlings, registration of Legal Reserves, among other actions. This has already earned us awards and changed the lives of these people, who now have extra income, decent working conditions and can contemplate reforestation where they live. Now the same is observed with families in the north of the country.”
“Citróleo is proud to be recognized as a company that works side by side with extractive families and communities. Only in the North and Northeast of Brazil, the company works together with about 2000 families and aims to double this number in a few years. Only with the production of murumuru butter, for example, 240 families are directly assisted, which benefit around 960 people from extra income, better living and working conditions” adds Flávia.
However, all this social, environmental and technological advancement would not be possible if it were not supported by a very robust base and symbol of Citróleo: sustainability. The expertise acquired in the management of Candeia (which was never on the endangered species list) is now applied to the extraction of Amazonian fruits, so that no tree ever had to be felled to obtain these oils and butters from the Amazon. The forest remains alive and standing.
“In 2020, Citróleo will be even more present on the world stage. It will indeed be a remarkable year for all of us” concludes Juliano.
