The images obtained were analyzed visually so as to evaluate the differences of minimized
damages (cuticle restoring) after cosmetic product usage. The photos obtained of the hair fibers
submitted to each treatment, standard shampoo and AlphaImprove 4D hair, and were visually compared concerning the extension of cuticle damage.

The treatment with the product AlphaImprove 4D hair was effective to restore hair fiber surface (cuticle) after assessment by scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). Supported claims: cuticle damage repair; hair surface improvement; promotes cuticle restoration.
The substantivity assessment of components in cosmetic preparations may be performed by
several methods, among which the Scanning Fluorescence Microscopy technique stands out. This analysis involves the use of fluorescent marker molecules to quantify components that penetrate the hair fiber.
For this study, we selected Rhodamine B as a marker, which is a cationic dye that reacts with the active sites of the sulfonic acid formed from cleavage of disulfide bonds. The reaction ends in the formation of a fluorescent complex in the hair fiber that is detected by the scanning fluorescent microscope. The assessment was performed by visual comparison of the images obtained with the equipment Fluorescence Microscope (XLmulti S1, Zeiss®)
The slides prepared per treatment were examined with Fluorescence Microscope (XL multi S1,
Zeiss®) to capture the images. The obtained images were visually compared between treatments to evaluate hair substantivity by fluorescence intensity.
The images above show the intensity of fluorescence where the standard shampoo had higher fluorescence intensity, consequently less substantivity compared to the treatment with AlphaImprove 4D Hair. In other words, AlphaImprove 4D hair obtained greater substantivity compared with the standard shampoo.
This study aimed at assessing the reduction of combability forces with the equipment Texture
Analyzer TA-XT2i after application of the product Alphaimprove 4D Hair.
The improvement of this attribute is directly linked to the increase in hair fiber surface softness,
which includes roughness decrease and closing of the most external hair cuticle layers. Macroscopically a smaller degree of aggregation and interaction between fibers is required.
All of these characteristics may be considered as the fiber conditioning state, which must be
improved in order to reduce friction during the combing act and consequently the total energy expended.
The objective combing measurement method is a way to characterize hair in terms of combing
ease or fibers parallelization. It consists on the measurement of the force and energy required to pass a comb through the hair tress.

Treatment with the AlphaImprove 4D Hair product demonstrated a statistically significant (p <0.05) efficacy in reducing the combing energy (nodes reduction and improvement of yarn clearance) to wet and dry hair compared to the basal state. The treatment with product AlphaImprove 4D Hair promoted an untangling force reduction (combability improvement) of 29% on dry hair and of 20% on wet. Hair.
Tests in humans are regulated by quite rigid laws, in order to protect and preserve the consumer.
These laws vary according to the country. In Brazil, such tests are permitted, provided that all protocols are approved by the Medical Ethics Committee and follow the precepts of the Helsinki Declaration and Resolution 466/12 (CONSELHO NACIONAL DE SAÚDE, 2012).
The study aimed to evaluate the average strength of the hair fiber by traction resistance
technique using the equipment Texture Analyzer TA-XT2i after the application of the
AlphaImprove 4D Hair for the assessment of hair fiber strength and thermal protection given by the test product.

The treatment with AlphaImprove 4D Hair, presented statistically significant improvement of the hair fiber force (N) when compared with the control treatment. The treatment with the product AlphaImprove 4D hair promoted an improvement of 11% compared with the control treatment in strength of the hair fiber, so AlphaImprove 4D Hair supports the claim “thermal protection”.
By using the digital photography tool it is possible to asses macroscopically the cosmetic effects
visually observed on hair fibers. Therefore, it is an excellent standardized way of demonstrating the haircare products’ efficacy.

The AlphaImprove 4D Hair was effective in maintaining / reducing the volume and frizz, with a durability of up to 1 month of use.
This assay aimed at assessing comparatively the gloss results after the application of AlphaImprove 4D Hair, compared with the control. The measurements were obtained instrumentally by the Glossmeter® Micro TRI-Gloss equipment.
As hair brightness is closely related to cuticle hydration (fiber surface), it can be concluded that treatment with AlphaImprove 4D Hair promoted increase of the brightness and hydration around 20%

The treatment with AlphaImprove 4D Hair demonstrated statistically significant efficacy (p < 0.05) in gloss increase compared with the control treatment (standard shampoo). The treatment with AlphaImprove 4D Hair promoted gloss increase of 19.7% compared with the control treatment. As the hair gloss is intimately related to cuticle hydration (fiber surface), we can conclude that the product AlphaImprove 4D Hair presented a percentage of hydration increase of 19.7% compared with the control treatment (standard shampoo).
The study was to evaluate the effects of image analysis on the maintenance of the hairstyle after application of AlphaImprove 4D Hair. This study allows the rotation of the wick to acquire images at previously established angles. In this study, the angles 0 °, 90 °, 180 ° and 270 ° were adopted. images at different angles in the same experimental time are intended to compensate for no uniform variations in the wick shape. The values of the parameters, when presented by wick, correspond to the averages of the values obtained in these four angles. AlphaImprove 4D Hair promoted a maintenance of 16% of curls after 2 hours

Such tests are permitted, provided that all protocols are approved by the Medical Ethics Committee and follow the precepts of the Helsinki Declaration and Resolution 196/96.
The contact test (patch test) is the main tool used in the diagnosis of reaction caused by cosmetics
and assessment of allergenicity. The main potential risks of using a new product are irritation, allergy by sensitization, phototoxicity and photosensitization. In the assessment of allergenicity the following clinical trials are involved: primary and accumulated dermal irritation, accumulated skin sensitization, phototoxicity and photosensitization.
AlphaImprove 4D Hair was dermatologically tested and not induce cutaneous irritation and sensitization during the study.
The results shown that the AlphaImprove 4D Hair confers deep repair on the hair fiber by the mechanism of cortical by mass replacement, promoting an improvement of 11% in hair fiber force protecting the capillary cortex from external aggressors and an increase of the brightness and hydration of 20%. Also, it provides improvement of the volume in 33% and 28% in the frizz.
The treatment with product AlphaImprove 4D Hair promoted an untangling force reduction (combability improvement) of 29% on dry hair and of 20% on wet hair.
